At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass & MetroWest (BBBSCM), we believe that mentorship comes in many forms, each as unique as the individuals involved. For our Bigs, being a mentor is not just about spending time with their Little; it’s about building a relationship that can change both lives for the better.
Every Match is different, shaped by the personalities and interests of the Big and Little involved. As we match Littles with Bigs, we look for caring adults who have a few hours each month to dedicate to building a meaningful relationship. We look for Bigs of all backgrounds as our Littles are all incredibly unique and deserve their perfect Big.
In a 1:1 Match meeting, you can expect to engage in activities that you and your Little both enjoy. Whether it’s a leisurely walk in the park or trying something new and adventurous like stand-up paddleboarding, the goal is to bond and create lasting memories. What makes these meetings so special is the opportunity to learn from each other; you may find that you learn as much from your Little as they do from you, if not more.
To support our Matches, we provide resources such as a dedicated Match Support Specialist who is committed to your success. We offer training on youth well-being to ensure that your experience is as rewarding as possible. Additionally, Bigs receive a Big ID card (select local discounts for our volunteers) and access to resources on our website.
