Mazie Mentoring Program Legacy
We are proud to share the legacy of John Andrew Mazie. John Mazie was tragically killed by a drunk driver in 1997 at the age of 26. Throughout his life, John Mazie was a mentor to many. To honor his legacy, his parents, Lowell and Barbara Mazie with their daughter, Linda Mazie, began the John Andrew Mazie Mentoring Program.
The program matched high school students with volunteer mentors with the objective of helping students achieve their goals and succeed. The Mazie Mentoring Program operated in Framingham, Waltham, and Marlborough schools starting in 1998.
In 2017, the Mazie Mentoring Program merged with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass & MetroWest.
"Inspired by family, guided by purpose, and driven by love - I found my legacy in the lives of the young people I mentored."
- Bob Keller, 3 Time Mazie Program Mentor
