Finish Out Summer With a Bang: 7 Fun Things To Do With Your Little

As we head into the latter half of July, you might’ve already exhausted every hang-out idea that you had in the bank. Have no fear: BBBS CMMW is here to save the day! Here are some fun things to do with your Little to continue staying cool and having fun in the summer months, including some ideas from our staff!

1. Olivia’s Suggestion – Go to the Beach!
While there’s not a beach in Worcester, taking a short trip to the coast is always worth it to stay cool! Olivia’s favorite beach is Nauset Beach in the Cape, but if that’s a little too far for you, check out this list of Beaches that might be a little easier to get to.

2. Check Out Our List of Things to Do with our Big Deal Card
Part of the perks of being a Big is our Big Deal Card, which allows you to get discounts at businesses around Central Mass and MetroWest for fun activities! Check out this list to see what you and your Little can get up to for a discounted price!

3. Biz’s Suggestion – Hang Out with the Cows at Rota Springs Farm
If you love ice cream and beautiful scenery, Rota Springs Farm is the perfect place for you! Enjoy some delicious, homemade ice cream with an endless number of flavors to choose from while looking out onto fields of cows. You can also stop by their farm store, which sells delicious jams, pastries, and honey sticks!

4. Dive Into Science and Nature at the Ecotarium!
If you and your Little love nature, the Ecotarium is a perfect destination for you! Learn about New England’s native plants and wildlife first-hand through live animal habitats and indoor interactive exhibits while having a ton of fun with your Little. You can also drop by their planetarium to learn more about the universe we call home!

5. Delaney’s Suggestion – Support the WooSox!
Baseball games are a classic summer activity, and, even if you’ve already gone to one, it’s always a blast to support your local sports teams! Enjoy WooSox baseball while having yummy snacks and taking pictures with their mascot, Smiley Ball!

6. Dive Into the Worcester Art Museum’s Impressive Collection
From Roman marble statues to Claude Monet’s beautiful landscapes, the Worcester Art Museum offers a little something for everyone to enjoy. If you want to hold onto a real-life sword in their Arms and Armor gallery or see one of the largest collections of Roman-era Mosaics, the Worcester Art Museum is perfect for you!

7. Sarit’s Suggestion – Check out a Local Summer Concert Series
If you and your Little love music, be sure to see if your town is hosting a summer concert series! It’s the perfect time to share delicious food with your Little while enjoying awesome music from an artist you maybe haven’t heard of. To start, check out this summer concert series!
